Teach For Nigeria is a non-governmental organization focused on developing leaders to bridge education inequity in our country. Our mission is to attract, engage and mobilize an army of young change agents who will drive the movement towards educational equity and excellence in Nigeria, starting by recruiting outstanding graduates as full time teachers for two years in underserved schools in low-income communities. The Fundraising and Partnership team is responsible for raising funds for the operations of Teach For Nigeria. Fundraising is one of the critical backbones of the organizations as the organization is completely dependent on donations in its current form. The team needs to be abreast with everything happening in the organization and the education sector as a lot of time is spent in creating and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders. The Manager must be able to precisely develop and maximize top-level communications and engagement of existing partners and potential donors

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Responsible for developing the strategy for fundraising & external partnership
2. Strengthen Teach For Nigeria’s funding channels including – Corporates, Foundations, Individual Giving, Retail Giving, Online Crowdfunding, and Events, among others. The Manager will be responsible for driving the development of some of these streams including supporting the team with prospect research, portfolio management and managing gift operations
3. Work closely with the CEO and Regional Directors in preparedness for anticipated questions and suggested responses during engagements with existing and potential donors and/or partners
4. Leads on the identification and prioritization of new prospects and supporters for the organizations and the cultivation process to convert prospects into new donors. This includes deepening Teach For Nigeria’s networks to increase the base of donors and champions

5. Responsible for tracking and monitoring Teach For Nigeria’s fundraising progress to goal, while building and strengthening the Development team’s processes including keeping all proposals and documents up to date on the team site and update on the tracker
6. Leads follow-up of donors and tracking of donations; and manage same up to the CEO and Regional Directors
7. Leads in-depth assay of all donors and partners to develop strategies for leveraging and eliciting positive responses from potential donors
8. Leads on the preparation of presentations, reading materials, emails, grant applications, proposals, funding & program reports to maintain existing and attract new funding partners
9. Leads on the preparation of appreciation letters, concept notes, reports, and donor histories
10. Work with the finance team to ensure all reports are sent to donors in a complete and timely fashion
11. Work with the program team to ensure all reports are sent to donors in a complete and timely manner
12. Work with the Monitoring & Evaluation team to collect data for reports, and ensure all reports and update are sent to donors in a complete and timely manner
13. Work with the marketing and communications team to develop and update effective touchpoints for the Teach For Nigeria brand
14. Coordinates all in kind support from different organizations

Education and Experience
1. 5-7 years of relevant work experience, prior experience with fundraising and/or business development preferred
2. Graduate/Post Graduate
